Meet Pastor Michael C. Poole.

Michael Poole was born in Detroit, Michigan March 8, 1955 into a drunkard’s home and was named after his father’s bar tender.  His father was saved as a result of the ministry of the Temple Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. G. B. Vick when Michael was 3 months old.  He is the youngest of five children and the only one born in the north.  The family moved to LaGrange, Indiana when he was four.  Mike was saved and baptized at 6 years of age in a store front church in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  The Family soon started attending Twin City Baptist Church in Mishawaka, Indiana where Dr. Victor Sears was then the pastor.  During his growing up years Mike was very involved in all activities in the church.
Michael Poole graduated high school in 1973, and married Marie McCaskill (who also grew up in Twin City Baptist Church) in the same year.  He worked for a few months  with pastor Earl Dukes in Crete, Illinois before being called as assistant Pastor at Bible Baptist church in Griffith, Indiana with Pastor Ken Jones in 1977.  He served as the assistant Pastor and youth leader for 1 year.  He was then called to be pastor when Pastor Jones resigned.  He has been the pastor since 1978.  Mike and Marie had 1 son when they first arrived.  They now have 5 children happily married and 11 grandchildren.  All of their children are currently members of Bible Baptist Church.
Pastor Poole was pastoring the church before he took college courses by correspondence from Temple Baptist University in Westlake, Louisiana.  He also received his Doctorate from there.
